Psiioniic's Headspace

The inside of the Psiioniic's mind presents itself as an enormous tower shaped like an uppercase 'I', or a roman numeral 'I'. One half (vertically speaking) is shaded blue while the other is shaded red. The void-like space around it is simply a shifting area of olive-green and jade coloration. There's nothing out there. The tower is the main space. It is a very sleek and 'modern' looking kind of structure, with lots of windows and metal and it's all very shiny and nice.

Whenever the Psiioniic is under a lot of stress, the tower splits into two separate ones, more like his gemini symbol and connected by the top structures. However, the connection on the top is red and the one on the bottom is blue. They don't actually have any doorways or anything that lead into the other tower, so you either have to force your way through (which may or may not lead to some minor psychological trauma) or go out through one of the windows and engage in fun psychic shenanigans. They are connected much better through wires and little scattered floating platforms... although if the Psiioniic's mind doesn't recognize the intruder or just does not like them, those platforms may suddenly disappear from beneath their feet. Whoops. Someone like Milla would have no problems. A stranger, like Handmaid, or an enemy, like Condesce, would have quite a few.

Different kind of memories can be found in different parts of the tower, but it's not necessarily strictly 'happy' and 'sad'. Happy memories have the equal chance of being found in the blue portion of the tower as they can be found in the red tower. They're simply a different kind of 'happy'. They're simply a more calm kind of happy. For example, the red part of the tower will have a very excitable memory of when his lusus took him flying as a kid. The blue tower, in contrast, will have a memory of him just cuddling up against his lusus, drifting off to sleep. On a more negative aspect... Red would have a time when he had a nervous breakdown and spent a lot of time stabbing the body of some troll he thought would 'out' him. Blue would have the time he stared at himself in a mirror emptily and debated on stabbing *himself*.

Speaking of red and blue! Back to that stress and breakdowns.

Whenever this happens, two different representations of the Psiioniic appear. *This does not mean he has multiple personalities*. They are simply representations of his bipolarity inside of his mind. They both look like him, only dressed in the simple, wrecked gear of a slave. Like the tower itself, one is shaded red, and the other blue. They are also representative of something else: the Psiioniic's self loathing.

You see, Red will constantly try to kill Blue. Violently. Blue will always *almost* give in, just enough to get stabbed quite a bit, but he'll still fight back... depending on how bad the Psiioniic in general is having this break. If this is a simple stress breakdown (like when Signless was kidnapped into the factory), then Blue would get nothing more than a few bleeding wounds. At the Psiioniic's most broken? He'd lie broken and bleeding somewhere in Tower Blue, with a large bloodtrail behind him.

(Fun fact: Blue bleed red. Red bleeds blue.)

If the tower is placed back together in its proper unsplit form, then Red and Blue will go to their respective parts of the tower. They will always, without fail, synch up so that they go through the same route, same rooms, at the exact same time. (The tower has mirror-image halves, so this isn't hard.) They will reach the same room, which is the only one right between both halves and is only available when the tower is one complete whole. It looks like nothing more than a simple slave's room, if more or less a bit more clean. Against the wall, in the center of the room, will be an orange tree. (Surprise.) It will not bear fruit, but always be in bloom. Hanging from the branches will be various little charms, all representative of people he holds close to his heart. For trolls, their sign will usually be what represents them. For humans, it will be an object associated with them.

In the middle of the room, splayed on a simple pile of blankets, will another Psiioniic, this one comatose and pale all over. Red and Blue will kneel down on both sides of him, still in sync, and take one of his hands each. Then they'll disperse into energy, and the comatose Psiioniic will regain his color and consciousness again. After that, and during any other time when the tower is one, the Psiioniic will be wandering the tower as he pleases and perfectly aware of any visitors to his mind.

What? He's one of the best psionic mages Alternia has ever seen. Of course he'll know this shit in his head.

While both halves of the tower will be mirror images of one another in terms of architecture, the things decorating them will be very different.

The red portion of the tower will always be filled with a kind of energy. Parts of wagons and ships, camping gear, pieces of machinery, some of it still grinding along on the walls... Another common theme are feathers, strewn everywhere. When split from blue, everything will look as if it has suffered horrible water damage. As in, drowned by an ocean and never even attempted to be repaired water damage.

The blue portion of the tower is calmer, but not in the "It's quiet... too quiet" sense. The kind of calm you would get from listening to rain or that light tinkling sound Nirnroot makes in the Elder Scrolls. It's filled with books and maps and schematics. Lots of actual *furniture* instead just piles of blankets and such. Although there will be a lot of very comfortable deer pelts everywhere to lay on... When split from red, it looks as if it's suffered from fire damage.

The voices of the imminently deceased also play a part in the Psiioniic's headspace. If the tower is split, their words will be scribbled all over the walls, some a bit more readable than others, but all with that same desperateness to them all. Reading them is a quick way to getting depressed. When the tower is one, they are still present, but to a much smaller degree, and easily erased. The Psiioniic often walks casually by them (he's had a longer time than Sollux to get used to them) and just erases them with the palm of his hand. If anyone spends long enough going through the books on the blue portion of the tower, they'll find those same words scribbled across the pages of a certain entire bookcase... or ten.

One last thing: like in the Psychonaut's level for the Milkman, the Psiioniic does have Nightmares. Instead of the normal variety, they seem to be made strange organic pink wires. While usually kept under check much like Milla's (in a secret room rather close to those bookcases recording the words of the imminently deceased), when the towers are split, they tend to surprise-abduct visitors to the Psiioniic's mind... along with the Red and Blue representations of his bipolar emotions.
