The ability which makes him most valued for Helmsman duty is the Psiioniic's strength in creating psionic energy, known as 'psi'.
This energy can manifest in a variety of ways, from laser-like blasts which can go through rock to crackling electricity. While generally used in an offensive manner, the Psiioniic has learned to focus his psi on a more subtle scale until it is simply a sort of warmth or focused energy which he often uses in friendly interactions with other (such as a smack to an arm or drawn up a lover's skin).
When flustered or aggravated, his powers sometimes react as an emotional indicator and crackle from his eyes up to his horns. The manner in which they do so often depends on which emotion he's feeling. When he's aggravated, they manifest in sharp jagged lines. Simply flustered has them manifesting in much more smaller and erratic lines.
As with telekinesis, this energy manifests in alternating red and blue.
